RESTORE: Christian Women's Health Summit

This three-night summit seeks to connect women in the community with Christian health-care professionals and those who desire to improve their health and wellness from a Biblical perspective. 

Objectives: 
Restore, Rest, Connect & Create 

  • Communicate the intricate designs of the female human body and nervous system from a Biblical perspective.

  • Give practical advice and ways to change pain and dysfunction.

  • Bring hope to those within the body of Christ who suffer from physical and mental pain.

  • Mobilize the body of Christ by healing women from the inside, out.

  • Provide general health information that does not promote any specific business within the body or community.

  • Create a space for reflection of spiritual, mental and physical state allowing room for the Spirit of God to step in and make a change.

  • Learn to rest in God’s stillness and listen to His leading to allow Him to restore you from the inside out.

Speakers:
Shelly Tyler, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Dr. Shelly Tyler, a women’s health physical therapist of 12 years, is the Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of Rehabilitation & Performance Institute where she provides holistic physical therapy and nutritional care to the women of Owensboro, Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Evansville in 2010 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy and bachelor’s in exercise science. She has a specialty in orthopaedics and completed fellowship training through Regis University in 2016. Until now, her voice has primarily been through presentations to the next generation of physical therapists through continuing education course instruction and adjunct teaching at the University of Evansville.

Through years of caring for the hurting people around her, Shelly has become burdened to share the hope of Christ through educating people about their creator, the tools he has already given us, and his innate design to heal their mind, bodies, and souls. Shelly’s perspective and voice was illuminated and transformed into an authentic reflection of moments the Lord has used in her own recovery to help those she treats daily.

Shelly and her husband, John Mark, live on Fiddlewood Farm in Philpot, Kentucky, where they run an outdoor nature school, raise small livestock, and enjoy life with their three children: Grayson, Paxton, and Abbi Grace. She enjoys playing her violin at Pleasant Valley Community Church, outdoor adventures, gardening, and writing.


Katie Whetstone, DPT, SCS
Dr. Katie Whetstone, a resident of Newburgh, Indiana, is a board-certified clinical specialist in the area of sports physical therapy and a full-time faculty member at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. Katie has a Bachelor of Science degree in the area of exercise science as well as a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She also completed formal sports physical therapy training through a Sports Residency Program.

At the University of Evansville, she teaches musculoskeletal content, including anatomy, in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Clinically, she works with Division I athletes at the University of Evansville. Her special interests include pelvic floor dysfunction, the adolescent female athlete, the postpartum female athlete, and sports injury prevention.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, Matt, and has 2 children, Harper (6) and Leo (3). Matt and Katie run the Young Adult Ministry as volunteers through Crossroads Christian Church in Newburgh. She loves hosting people/events at her home and playing volleyball.

Holly W. Johnson, 200 Hour RYT, CF-1
Holly currently works at Apollo High School as a Health & Physical Education Teacher. She is passionate about teaching all aspects of health and the importance of a solid foundation in wellness. She believes it is God’s desire that you live in good health (3 John 1:2).

She has her Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Physical Education, Masters and Rank I in Secondary School Counseling, Crossfit Level 1, 200 Hour Yoga Training, and is trained in Healing Prayer and Releasing Freedom through International Association of Healing Rooms (local branch out of Madisonville and Owensboro). 

Holly’s cup is filled when others work to become healthy from the inside-out and impact the world with their God given abilities and gifts.  She also believes that a person’s physical and spiritual health work hand in hand and is currently creating a faith-based yoga to bring the two together to build up the body and mind.  She enjoys spending time with Jesus and knows God’s Word gives life to the body (Prov. 4:20-22) and connecting and praying with other women.

Her love language is “acts of service” as she enjoys getting involved in her church’s women's ministry, community and various non-profit organizations. 

Emily Walters, LMT
Emily Walters is a born-and-raised native of Owensboro, KY where she, her husband, and two children continue to live and grow. Emily is a licensed massage therapist and has been serving her beloved clients at Southern Styles Salon in Owensboro for six years. She was trained in Swedish Massage at the Louisville School of Massage and enjoys implementing slow connective tissue work as her preferred modality.

In addition to her massage therapy work, Emily is passionate about her relationship with the Lord and the local body of Christ. She has been given a unique health journey that she continues to navigate through the lens of holy scripture and says that it has only furthered her resolve to love the Lord and minister to others in this life that she has been given.

Faith Harralson
Faith Harralson loves encouraging women to find peace, embrace rest and enjoy every season of their life. As a natural born achiever and perfectionist personality, working as a top executive assistant for a Fortune 500 company to earning her Masters degree in education, she has realized over the years that the world's definition of success doesn't always lead to fulfillment.  She loves sharing how taking a step back, trusting God and letting go can actually cause you to take a long leap forward. 

Faith is currently the head of Discipleship at The Father's House in Owensboro, KY.  She is a wife to Steve and together they coach couples in premarital and marital enrichment.  She is passionate about adoption and motherhood and loves being able to homeschool her kids, travel, and garden!

Sarah R DeLoach, MSW, LCSW
Sarah R DeLoach is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who practices Clinical Counseling and other Therapeutic Supports in private practice in Owensboro, KY. Sarah has extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR).

She is passionate about helping others grow, heal, and create a life worth living. Aside from her role as Therapist, Sarah is a wife to Stephen and a mother to her three kiddos Everett, James Shepherd & Willow. In her spare time she is an avid DIYer who thrives on designing spaces in her home to be beautiful to look at and functional to use for her family.

Lauren Early, MA, LPCC
Lauren Early is a Licensed Clinical Counselor who specializes in marriage and relationship issues.  She has significant training and experience in evidenced based interventions that focus on healthy communication and authentic connection.

Lauren is passionate about incorporating a faith-based approach in her private practice. She is a wife, a mother, and a pursuer of adventure through travel and concert going.
